Jul 2011: Help make Scotland’s longest clothesline

We need your help to create Scotland’s Longest Clothesline on Thursday 14 July at Edinburgh’s Inverleith Park.

The one kilometre clothesline – a first for Scotland, is being organised by Clothes Aid to raise funds for our Scottish partner charity Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). The event is also being supported by local MSP Marco Biagi.

Any clothes donations can be brought down to Inverleith Park on 14 July between 11am – 4pm. All the donated items from the clothesline will be sold through the CHAS shops and overseas to raise money for CHAS.

Director of Fundraising and Communications Roslyn Neely said, “We’re hoping that local residents will turn out in force to join in the fun of creating Scotland’s Longest Clothesline. It’s going to be a great sight and hits home the message that we need your donations – no matter how big or small.”

Business Manager at Clothes Aid Michael Lomotey said, “Since Clothes Aid began its partnership with CHAS over two years ago, the Scottish public have helped raise £230,000 for CHAS. We hope that this event will encourage even more people to donate while diverting hundreds of tonnes of waste from landfill at the same time.”
