Jul 2010: Make moving easier with Pickfords and the NSPCC

Moving house can be stressful, so removals and storage company Pickfords have partnered with Clothes Aid to make moving easier while supporting a great cause.

As part of the NSPCC and Pickfords fundraising partnership, movers will be able to unload any unwanted clothes and shoes into NSPCC collection sacks for their Pickford's moving team to take away.

These clothes will be taken to Pickfords warehouses where the NSPCC's recycling partner Clothes Aid will collect them and donate £300 for every tonne.

NSPCC head of corporate partnerships, Tracy Griffin said: "I'm delighted that Pickfords has chosen to support the NSPCC as their first national charity partner.

"Pickfords' UK-wide network of removal and office staff will help raise awareness of the NSPCC and our helplines among their customers. More children and adults will know where to get help because of Pickfords support."

Pickfords Managing Director Russell Start said, "We chose the NSPCC as our national charity because we strongly identified with its mission, to end child cruelty.

"The charity does great work both nationally and locally and we are looking forward to taking part in both the Clothes Aid scheme and in local activities to raise funds."

Any adult with concerns about a child should call the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000. If you're a child and you have any worries you can call ChildLine on 0800 1111.
