Clothes Aid is a social business working on behalf of some of the United Kingdom’s best known charities including Cancer Support UK and PDSA.
We are currently looking for self-employed collection teams to add to the 150 teams we have already working for us.
A collection team comprises of a driver/team leader and three distributors. Our team leaders currently earn between £300 and £500 per week, the distributors are paid between £40-£60 per day depending on results.
The team leader should have a basic understanding of English. It is not necessary for the distributors to speak English. The team leader must have a clean driving license and for insurance purposes must be over 25 years old. All team members must have a passport from a country of the European Union, be physically fit, enjoy working outdoors and be reliable and self-motivated.
The way it works is this. The three distributors will deliver a charity collection bag to around 1000 houses every day. The driver collects the bags that are donated from householders three days later. It is expected that from a distribution of around 15,000 bags around three tons of clothing will be donated giving a net income for the team leader of between £300 and £500 per week depending on results. Because we have been working in this business for more than 20 years and our charities are so well known we get very good response rates so the earnings can be substantial.
There are great opportunities to progress further in our company. For instance we have many people who started as a drivers who are now managing as many as five collection teams and some are even running our depots throughout the United Kingdom.
